Dr John Gault opened the doors to Gault Surgery in 2011, aiming to provide individualised treatment in the fields of breast cancer, melanoma and laparoscopic general surgery.

Our experienced surgeon
Dr Gault has trained extensively in the United Kingdom, Australia, Europe and the United States, and has been a member of the Breast Surgeons of Australian and New Zealand (BreastSurgANZ)since its inception in 2010. He has fulfilled the training requirements set by BreastSurgANZ to perform oncoplastic and reconstructive techniques and continues to keep his skills up to date. Dr Gault has years of comprehensive experience operating, consulting, and teaching in the areas of breast, melanoma, thyroid and general surgery. He is a highly regarded surgeon, contributing to both public and private sectors on the Gold Coast for the past 14 years. Dr Gault is focused on treating cancer and helping his patients make informed decisions regarding surgery, and is dedicated to improving length and quality of life. He has developed a strong reputation for his conscientiousness and dedication to his patients.

Our caring team of professionals
Your care also involves more than your surgeon – alongside Dr Gault we have a very experienced team, working to give you premium care throughout your entire time with us. We are professional yet also warm and caring, and we all strive to make your time with us as easy as possible.
Dr Gault also works with other healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists, psychologists, and dedicated anaesthetists. Dr Gault will also work closely with each patient’s General Practitioner during treatment.
The team that is engaged for each patient is flexible and may expand or reduce according to the patient’s individual treatment plan. Dr Gault may also refer to other specialists according to patient needs and requests. If you have a particular specialist in mind, you can discuss that with Dr Gault in your consultation.
Breast cancer support
We will provide you with access to all methods of diagnosis and treatment. Our approach is empathetic and patient-centred. We offer a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, with our staff here to help support you. Our breast care nurse, Julie, will work as a support person for you and your family, answering your questions and educating you about your care throughout the process.
